Nelspruit: Botanical Gardens

It's Friday and almost the weekend, but unfortunately my weekend only starts after 9 o'clock tonight - we have a team building Action cricket game tonight - so may the best team win! hehehe

As I promised I will be posting something about my holiday - but I don't have my photos with me at the moment - but I will tell you about my experience anyways and share some other images (from the net) and post mine on Monday. That's okay with you?

About the Botanical Gardens

The character of the Garden is shaped by the two main rivers that cut across it,
Namely the Crocodile and Nels Rivers. Before these two rivers converge in the
Garden, they form spectacular waterfalls which can be viewed at the Cascades and the Nels viewpoint. When the Crocodile River is low, interesting geological formations are visible.

When in bloom the clivia’s at the Garden’s main entrance are a beautiful and welcoming sight.

Walking through the enchanting African Rain Forest enables one to cross the Crocodile River across the famous suspended bridge, where the cascading waterfall can also be viewed.

The South African Forest contains fascinating vegetation from the Coastal Belt as well as the Limpopo Province.

I’m not your typical active girl getting up at 5 for a jog – but if I have to take a walk through the Gardens at 5 in the morning – feel free to wake me up!

This is something I’ll definitely do again it was fun, interesting and well next time I’m taking my picnic bag with!

Hope you enjoyed the post will be posting my photos on Monday!

Living life by the fullest

I haven’t forgotten to post about my Nelspruit trip, but I have been catching up with my work - it's crazy but I'll definitely be posting tomorrow.

So I have been doing some research and checking out other blogs to get inspiration and see where I can improve on my blog and I have noticed how some bloggers post in their language and then in English and I actually liked the idea of that and especially fashion bloggers (big name fashion blogger) blog about their outfit and then a little writing! So it doesn't look like there are a lot of rules about blogging - just as long as you keep your followers happy and that’s exactly what I want to do soooo any suggestions, let me know what you would like to see on my blog! My blog is very important to me as I believe this could be my break through to my career, even if it might take a while I'll continue trying.
I enjoy blogging but I really want to do more fashion posts – that’s where my passion lays...!

But for now I’m leaving you with a bible verse for the day...
1 Corinthians 10:13  No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.

Will update my blog soon!

Nelspruit – Hippo Water Front Lodge

Hi beautiful people!

First of all my apologies for my absentees for the last... week! I have not forgotten about you guys, I was on holiday and what a treat it was! As per my previous post I did promise to bring back a bit of paradise and I did!
Because we did so much this holiday I thought of sharing something each day.
Starting with...

Paradise: Nelspruit!

While some people work there, us from Johannesburg can enjoy a break away to Nelspruit and live the calm life, breathe in the fresh air and feel the farm atmosphere! I always knew I wanted to marry a Rugby player (Lion) but after this week, I'm considering a 'Boer'! (Laughs).

Nelspruit is a city in north-eastern South Africa. It is the capital of the Mpumalanga province and located on the Crocodile River.

Me and my family was lucky enough to find the perfect accommodation at the Hippo Water Front Lodge (B & B/self-catering), 10 km before Nelspruit (from Jhb side)! Our chalet had 2 bedrooms each had their own loo and shower and an outside kitchen which was actually very nice! I enjoyed it! It's situated on the banks of the Crocodile River and there’s a 2.5km gravel road but once you reach your destination you'll forget about that and enjoy the quit relaxing atmosphere of the farm between mountains and fruity and nutty plantations!

See some of my favourite photos

Entrance at the lodge

  Our chalet

One of our bedrooms

We saw and heard the hippo's almost everyday... and if you are lucky enough sometimes they walk around on the premises.

The gravel road not bad at all if this is your view.

You have to cross the Crocodile river in order to get to the lodge, this was taken at sunset.

The gravel road - almost at the lodge.

This is the pub at the lodge; we didn't visit it but went to take a peek
its perfect for a sundowners while the sun sets!

So this was just some photos I took, I actually took over a 1000 photos!

If you are interested in visiting the Hippo Water Front Lodge, Nelspruit lies about 330 kilometres east of Johannesburg and is perfect for a weekend breakaway or a long weekend, even a Holiday if you are not in the mood to drive too far.

My next post will be about the beautiful Botanical Gardens in Nelspruit! Don't miss out.

Make-up Artist till the max!

So last night was a rather interesting class at modelling we had a make-up artist to show us some basic make-up and interesting tips.

I'd like to share some of the photos with you. I have to admit though, the photos doesn't quit do this make-up artist justice to what she presented to us.

She introduced us to 3 different looks.

Look No 1
The natural look

This look is perfect especially if you are doing a modeling portfolio, you don't want to have too much make-up on.

Look No 2
'The Kim Kardashian look'
If you ask any of us at modelling what was the second look, we will probably say 'The Kim Kardashian look'

It also looks natural - But some parts of the face was contrasted and highlighted.

Look No 3
The smoky eyes.
We all love smoky eyes. With smoky eyes you don't have to use black you may use any color, blue, pink, brown etc. You start light (the whole eye area), dark on the outside of your eyes and work to lighter shades as you move towards the inside of your eyes. You can use liquid eye liner, charcoal or like Rochelle used eye shadow. I asked her about bright eyes - light lips, Bright lips - light eyes. She said it doesn't matter you may use both dark, (she preferred both dark for this look), after she done the whole look I saw the dark color lipstick she used, it wasn't very dark so it actually looked very nice.

Rochelle applied false eyelashes which I wanted to show you. She said we can apply mascara, but her personal favorite is false eye lashes. I have never tried out false eye lashes, so I have to admit I was actually happy she brought this up. When you apply false eye lashes, apply the glue to the lashes, slowly wave it so it gets sticky (not dry) then stick it to your own eye lashes, as close as possible so it will look natural. Note * your false eye lashes will be short on one side and get longer towards the end. The short part needs to be applied to the inner side of your eye.

 No false eye lashes applied

False eye lashes applied

Total look from the front (without false eye lashes)

If you would like to get your make-up done, a photographer, hair or nails, give Rochelle a call or drop her a mail.

Make-Up In-Love

I LOVE MAKE-UP!! It can truly turn an ugly duckly into a swan princess and today I really thought about sharing a bit more about make-up. These images are just a few tutorials and then some of the hottest/sexiest make-up looks!!

So this was rather interesting I never knew you actually get different types of eye shadow looks.
Easy step by step tutorials.

This is such a neat, sophisticated look, this look you can wear for a night out with your friend or boyfriend, or even in the work place. You'll definitely stand out.

I'll definitely be posting more on make-up. I'll also be trying out some new make-up looks over the next week and post for you to see.

Let me know if you tried out the tutorial!

Dreams and Holidays

Hi Beautiful people!

Busy Schedule
I haven’t forgotten about my blog, the last few days I've been very busy with some awesome stuff! But I can’t tell you about it yet. It's not major but I loved every single minute of it. Basically it’s something I want to build up as my career, but unfortunately this is not something I can just walk in and do or send my CV - NO it takes time, dedication and a lot of self-confidence and it’s probably one of the most exciting industries possible (if you are me)! :D
I'm still happy at my current job so I'll be doing this in my spare time due to circumstances I can't leave everything and just do it - there's another reason why I started my blog. :)

Week with the family
Next week I’ll be spending the week away with the family. A little family holiday. Can’t wait have not been on holiday or away for some time! So looking forward to this, doing some fishing with my nephew, hippo’s & crocodiles watching, dinosaurs exploring, botanical gardens, rugby Lions vs Cheetahs (Whooohhoooo Lions) etc. Can’t wait! But I’ll also do some research and when I’m back, I’ll share everything. The accommodation is also beautiful, I’m thinking about doing a fashion post there and I will also add a post on the accommodation itself under Travel label. Watch this space for exciting new posts.

Dream Big!
As per my last post I told you guys take chances and follow your dreams if you haven’t yet, tell me why and what is stopping you maybe we can help each other out. Tell me if you have, and how it turned out for you so far - I’d like to get more involved with my followers so share ideas, dreams and wishes with me. Always remember dreams are the one thing people can not take away from you.

Yesterday I had so much work to catch up on so I’ll be posting something nice tomorrow. If you ever have any suggestions what you would like to see on my blog let me know. Maybe we have the same interests! ;)

Remember add me on +Google/Subscribe to mail for daily updates/Bookmark my blog or add me to your circle you are also welcome to mail me on andreasprettylittleworld@gmail.com and lets get in touch!

Have a great day and God bless!

Get off your lazy bum and chase your dreams!!

Morning Beautiful people!

Today is a verrrrry exciting day for me finally something is happening in my life that’s exciting and in the directions of my dreams – BUT that’s all I can say at the moment.

I thought I might leave you guys with some inspirational quotes this weekend to encourage you to also follow your dreams and go out and try new stuff, take chances and live the life you have always wanted.

I know some of you might think ‘she doesn't know what she’s taking about’ or ‘I can’t afford it’. Guys somewhere some time you have to take changes, take risks to become where you want to be!

So here are a few things I want to leave you with today.

Have a great weekend and be save and let’s keep South Africa in our prayers today for a better outcome, may God save our beautiful country!

Golden Jewelry Galore

Hi Beautiful people!

I had to share the rest of my jewelry pieces, I bought so I created a collage!

3 of these items will be added into my competition bag!

Top Row:
1st picture: Bangles - I love these bangles but unfortunately they didn't have my size, but I still bought them to add them to the bag, it’s a combination color of gold and black. The black has a kind of a rubber matte shade!
2nd Picture: Leopard skin ribbon ring - this is my favorite (didn't have my size), the ribbon is a bit big but not un-wearable big - also in the bag!
3rd Picture: Finally something that fit ... (into my ear). I love how this breaks the rest of the gold color but still blends in!

Bottom Row:
1st Picture: Flowery earrings - this is sooo pretty, big on the ear but not heavy! It has little diamonds with a 3D effect, which breaks the color and you can try out these earrings with something gold - but as per my previous post don’t mix gold and silver if it’s going to look ridiculous.
2nd Picture: There were 4 different rings - all of them gold, flower, black bead with diamond, love ring, and a gold ring with diamonds - once again if you can pull this gold and silver off without making it look stupid do it! I have seen jewelry that actually looks great if you combine the 2 colors - just depending how you match them and what type of gold or what type of silver. (PSSSSST ... Also in the bag)
3rd Picture: Heavy chain gold toggled bracelet with diamonds on the ring and bar.

If you love this jewellery as much as I do, you can purchase it at any Mr Price or Legit stores in your area. It’s affordable and perfect for if you want to draw attention to yourself!

Golden Leopard Statement

As per my previous post I told you guys I did some jewelry shopping, so this jewelry shopping is actually a very inspirational thing, because I have so many ideas for different outfits.

My main item is my gold link necklace with a Bluish Green stone pendant and 2 elephant teeth on both sides!
For a perfect outfit to go with this statement necklace - this is what I had in mind!

  • Leather black Tights
  • Long sleeve black chiffon top with cuffed wrists
  • Ankle boots - plain black or brown boots will do the thing you will still look awesome, but my ideal ankle boots will be the inside out leopard skin boots!
  • Duffel Handbag
  • Earrings - This is soooo nice, it's similar to the statement necklace teeth!
  • Make-up - Try to focus on the eyes more than on the lips something natural for the lips will be great - but add some green and gold to your beautiful eyes.
  • Nails - Because you are not really wearing any rings or bangles, go for some pretty gold glittery nails.

Let me know what you thought of my post, or if you tried out my Golden Leopard outfit send me a picture would love to see!

Coconut Oils for your hair and skin!

A few weeks ago, I purchased a few well known essential oils that I would like to blog about.
My thought was to make my followers more aware of making use of homemade products rather than purchasing expensive products that doesn't always help. I’m not trying to put you off from other products but natural ways has always been the best ways.

My Essential oil I’d like to share with you today is “Coconut oil”. The first time I heard about this oil was when I started growing interests in making my own homemade masks etc.

Below I set a list together of all the great things Coconut oil can offer:

Recipes to try out at home

Whipped Body Coconut butter
Ingredients:
1 cup coconut oil
1 tsp vitamin E oil
Few drops of your favorite fragrance

Mix all the ingredients together in a mixing bowl. (Don’t melt the coconut oil)
Mix on high speed with an electric whisk for 6-7 minutes or until whipped into a lighter consistency.
Transfer it into a nice glass jar and close tightly.

Store in room temperature – as the whipped coconut oil should stay soft, even with colder temperature. If it’s too cold it might become a little bit more solid.

Hand Scrub
Ingredients:
1 tbsp coconut oil
2 tbsp raw honey
1/4 cup sea salt
1/4 cup organic sugar
1 tbsp lemon juice

Stir the honey and coconut oil together in a medium bowl.
In a separate bowl blend the salt, sugar and lemon juice until it becomes crumbly.
Pour the salt mixture over the honey mixture and stir until smooth.
Store in a small glass jar.

Gently massage a marble-sized amount on your hand, scrub for 30 - 60 seconds and don't forget to exfoliate between your fingers.
Rinse with warm water and pat dry. If your hands are extra dry, you can add coconut oil.
Repeat 1 - 2 times a week.

You will be able to get these essential oils from stores like Dis-chem, Clicks, Springbok etc.

Try out these 2 coconut oil recipes and let me know what the results are.
I will definitely be posting more homemade recipes, so watch this space!

XOXO
